About Solutions By Design
Founded in Harlem, NYC in 2004, Solutions By Design PLLC is a full service Architecture Firm that takes pride in providing personal attention to all of its clients whether they be private, institutional or other.
Solutions By Design PLLC provides owners representation, architecture and development consulting services for renovation, new construction and planning projects of a wide range of sizes and requirements. Our services include site planning, building design, construction documents production, construction administration and post construction services as well as development consulting,
Solutions By Design PLLC has provided services to condos,co-ops, churches, city governments, HUD housing projects and private clients. We have designed and developed our own projects as well.

A real estate developer, an accomplished designer and manager, as well as, a graduate of The City College School of Architecture with both a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Ms. Richards has more than 25 years experience in architectural design, production, construction administration, project management and exceptional experience in real estate development.
Ms Richards specific design expertise includes brownstone redesign and restoration, multifamily housing including condominium design, church and community facility design and sports facility design. Ms. Richards has project development experience in all of these building types.
Previous experience includes design, project management and development responsibilites with Dattner Architects and Roberta Washington Architects, PC. Notable projects that Ms. Richards was responsible for the design, management and production of, include Honeywell Apartments, Alma Rangel Gardens, Hancock Place Apartments and the renovation of the Harlem YMCA, all in New York City.
Also at Dattner Architects, Ms. Richards was part of the real estate development team with Jonathan Rose Companies and Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement (HCCI).
As a developer, designer and builder, Ms. Richards stands in the industry as a force for quality development in Harlem, as well as, other communities. She began developing small multi-family brownstone projects of her own prior to her most recently designed, built, and developed project, named The St. Claire on Fifth Condos - a 13-unit luxury condominium building in Harlem. This $10.5 million dollar development represents the only building in NYC to be developed, built and designed by a female developer.

A registered architect and a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation with a Masters in Architecture, Mr Samuels has more than thirty years of experience in all facets of site planning,building design,construction and project management.
Mr Samuels specific expertise includes K through 12 schools; Cultural Institutions including museums; condominiums and private residences and owners representation for multifamily housing projects including condominiums.
Previous experience includes design and project management responsibilities with Roberta Washington Architects, PC; Davis Brody Bond, Bond Ryder James and Hugh Newell Jacobsen, FAIA.
Notable projects that Mr. Samuels was responsible for the design, management and production of, include the African Burial Ground Interpretive Center in lower Manhattan, the Grimes Elementary School in Mt. Vernon, New York,The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham Alabama and the Katherine Brennan Elementary School renovation and addition in New Haven, Connecticut.
Mr. Samuels has been a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Organization of Minority Architects and the National Trust for Historic Preservation
